KAYLA DUNN

DIRECTOR, DESTINATION PLANNING

Kayla Dunn is the Director of Destination Planning for MMGY NextFactor and joins our team with a deep passion for work that drives positive environmental and cultural impact through the power of community. Prior to joining the MMGY NextFactor team, she has been a project manager across several industries for the last 11 years, including tourism development, public infrastructure, and wine business. She is particularly interested in community building, transportation systems, overtourism solutions, and preserving sense of place through responsible stewardship.

Her tourism experience includes 3 years on Travel Oregon’s Destination Development team, where her work helped activate stakeholders and industry partners in communities statewide to create long-term sustainable tourism initiatives, strategies, and networks through an award-winning tourism development program, the Oregon Tourism Studio. Her work helped generate new tourism products for Oregon’s domestic and international travel markets through the implementation of community-based tourism projects in cross-jurisdictional regions. Kayla also brings experience working on programs and research with the Center for Responsible Travel (CREST).

To her work, Kayla brings a talent for relationship building, compassionate listening, and a sense of humor. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning and Environmental Studies from Sonoma State University and a Professional Certificate in Sustainable Tourism Destination Management from The George Washington University.
